Prairie Squares takes inspiration from the straight lines of fields, divided into several areas with different stitches and textures in each square. One square leads to another, providing lots of interest.

Teaching Objectives:

  • Work with various stitches and thread textures
  • Develop an ease in stitching that emphasizes the rhythm of the stitch

Student Objectives:

  • Confidence in working with various thread textures
  • Techniques for stopping and starting threads
  • Discover how texture and color impact a design

Design size: 145 x 145, about 8” x 8” on 18 mono deluxe sage green canvas

Level: Advanced

Kit contents: 14” x 14” sage green canvas with taped edges; DMC #8 pearl cottons; DMC flosses; Kreinik #8 braids; Rainbow Gallery Silk Lame’ Braids; Rainbow Gallery Neon Rays; ThreadworX Vineyard silks; size 22 and size 18 tapestry needles
